Pakistan’s new National Champions Cup one-day tournament is set to run from August 11 to 18 at the Multan Cricket Stadium, as part of preparations for the 2027 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup.
The Pakistan Cricket Board will field four teams across seven matches in the competition.
The format includes a single round-robin phase followed by a final, with the sides named Pakistan Gold, Pakistan Greens, Pakistan Whites and Pakistan Blues.
The four teams will be captained by Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan, with squads picked by the national selection committee.
The tournament is designed to help assess the depth of Pakistan’s one-day talent pool ahead of the World Cup.
It is part of a wider overhaul of the domestic cricket calendar for the 2026-27 season, including an expansion of regional teams and changes to the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
