Netflix’s new family comedy Chumbak drops today, September 10, reuniting the creative team behind Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and Khichdi.
The series is created by Aatish Kapadia and JD Majethia and stars Neena Gupta, Sumeet Vyas, Deven Bhojani and Arjun Bijlani.
Vyas plays Aditya Khanna, while Gupta and Bhojani play Rajni and Kuku Merchant, a couple whose constant squabbling hides a deep affection.
The show follows a multigenerational cast of neighbours navigating the chaos and warmth of everyday Indian community life.
Chumbak arrives during a busy week for Indian OTT releases, alongside period drama The Revolutionaries and crime thriller Ghamasaan on rival platforms.
Sumeet Vyas plays Aditya Khanna in the series, while Neena Gupta and Deven Bhojani play Rajni and Kuku Merchant, a couple whose constant bickering masks a deep bond.
The show is set in an Indian neighbourhood and follows the everyday chaos, quirks and warmth of its residents across multiple generations.
Arjun Bijlani also features in a lead role in the series, rounding out an ensemble cast built around family and neighbourhood comedy.
