Confirmed: price announcement on October 26, bookings at Rs 11,000 and a 1.5-litre petrol engine of 115 horsepower.

Expected, not confirmed: ex-showroom price of Rs 9 to 14 lakh (Autocar India) or Rs 9.50 to 15 lakh (Carlelo).

Disagreement: the automatic is called a CVT by Autocar India and an IVT by Carlelo.

Unconfirmed: a factory-fitted CNG option, and a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, which is only a target.

Delivery: Carlelo says first week of November; another report gives no date.

Pre-bookings are open for a token amount of Rs 11,000, on Hyundai’s website or through authorised dealers, according to the reports.

Carlelo says deliveries are scheduled to start in the first week of November 2026, while another report says deliveries are expected after the launch without giving a date.

The Bayon sits between the Venue and the Creta in Hyundai’s SUV line-up, according to Autocar India.

The Bayon has begun reaching dealerships ahead of launch, according to Autocar India and CarWale.

The engine is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol making 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque, according to Autocar India.

Carlelo gives the engine’s output as 115 PS at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm at 4,500 rpm, and says Hyundai has confirmed only this engine so far.

It comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox or an automatic. Autocar India calls the automatic a CVT, while Carlelo calls it an IVT, so the name differs between reports.

A factory-fitted CNG option is expected later, according to Autocar India. Hyundai has not confirmed it, according to Carlelo.

Carlelo gives the length as 4.24 metres, while Autocar India’s article gives no dimensions.

The SUV is built on Hyundai’s Global K Enhanced platform, according to both reports.

Features listed include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat, dual 12.3-inch displays, a generative AI voice assistant, Bose audio, a wireless phone charger and over-the-air updates.
