India’s selectors are preparing to name the Test squad for next month’s two-match tour of Sri Lanka, with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s fitness a key talking point.

Jadeja picked up a tennis elbow injury during IPL 2026 and is still recovering, with no official confirmation yet on when he will be fully fit.

Pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah is facing similar scrutiny over his fitness. Neither he nor Jadeja played India’s one-off Test against Afghanistan.

Even so, Jadeja is expected to be considered for a return given the value his all-round game brings against Sri Lankan conditions.

The series begins with the first Test at Galle on August 15, before the teams move to Colombo for the second Test starting August 23.

India head into the series in fifth place in the World Test Championship table.
