Tamil Nadu’s Directorate of Government Examinations declared the Class 12 supplementary result, along with HSC +1 arrears results, on Thursday, July 31, 2026, for students who had one or more subjects pending from the main board exams.
The supplementary examination, held from June 28 to July 7, 2026, was attempted by 60,527 students across the state, the DGE said.
Candidates can view and download their provisional marksheets from tnresults.nic.in or dge.tn.gov.in, using their registration number and date of birth entered in DD/MM/YYYY format.
The passing criteria requires a minimum of 35 marks out of 100 for theory-only subjects, while subjects with practicals need at least 15 marks in theory along with a combined total of 35 marks.
Students who wish to challenge their marks can apply for revaluation on August 4 and 5 at the District Assistant Director’s office in their district, between 11 am and 5 pm, paying a fee of Rs 275 per subject.
The main Class 12 result, announced on May 8, 2026, had recorded a 95.20% overall pass rate, with this supplementary round meant to give a second chance to students who did not clear all subjects then.
Tamil Nadu’s supplementary exams are typically held for students who failed to clear one or more subjects in the main board examination, giving them a chance to qualify without losing an academic year.
The Directorate of Government Examinations conducts supplementary exams separately for Class 10 and Class 12, along with arrears papers for Higher Secondary First Year students who did not clear all subjects.
Students who remain dissatisfied with their supplementary marks can also apply for a photocopy of their answer sheet in addition to revaluation, a facility offered by the DGE for a separate fee.
The regular Class 12 result for 2026, declared on May 8, recorded an overall pass percentage of 95.20%, one of the state’s stronger showings in recent years.
