Srinagar Airport’s operations remain restricted to an 8 am-5 pm window through July 31, as part of an ongoing Indian Air Force runway upgrade that began on April 6.

The restriction is a temporary change from the airport’s regular operating hours of 8 am to 10 pm.

About 60 flights, covering both arrivals and departures, typically operate at the airport each day within the normal window.

The shortened hours are intended to support runway upgrade work aimed at improving operational efficiency and safety.

Officials have said flight frequency is expected to rise in line with the summer schedule cleared by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation once the work is complete.
