Pawan Kumar, a prominent student leader in Kolkata, recently completed six months as the Zilla Secretary for the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in South Kolkata. In addition to this role, he has now been appointed to the ABVP State Executive Council (SEC), further establishing his influence in student politics across West Bengal.
Pawan, a B.Com Honors student at the University of Calcutta, has made significant strides during his tenure as Zilla Secretary. His leadership over the past six months has seen the ABVP in South Kolkata grow its reach and engagement with students across various colleges. Known for his ability to connect with students and address their concerns, Pawan has been pivotal in organizing numerous student welfare activities and campaigns.
Before taking on the role of Zilla Secretary, Pawan served as the ABVP Nagar Secretary in Behala, Kolkata, where he laid the groundwork for his current leadership. “It has been a rewarding journey over the past six months. The support from students and my team has been incredible, and I’m excited to continue working towards strengthening the student movement in South Kolkata,” Pawan said, reflecting on his achievements.
His growing responsibilities were further acknowledged with his recent inclusion in the ABVP State Executive Council, where he will now contribute to state-level policies and initiatives for students.
In addition to his ABVP roles, Pawan Kumar previously served as the Convenor of Students for Seva (SFS) in South Kolkata. During his time with SFS, Pawan led numerous social initiatives, focusing on community service, healthcare, and educational support for the underprivileged. His work with SFS displayed his commitment to social causes and his desire to uplift the community through student activism.
